Reciprocal Linking
|
Referral links help get your site listed in the first place, but they are also a good tool to develop the relevancy of your keywords and keep your site high in the rankings. It’s always worth enquiring if other site owners in related fields could link back to your site and include some of your keywords in the link text. Not everyone will do this, and its best not to pester people too much, but if you already have a connection with another site manager, it’s worth a try.
Let's look at an example:
If you're a bridal shop in Southampton, a link from another bridal shop in York would be a good inbound link as you share the same business area. Links from websites in a related industry are good. Our bridal shop example could ask local florists to link to their website.
Make sure you ask the other website to include some relevant keywords as the link text rather than just your website address. A link with the text "Pretty Bridals, Bridal Shop Southampton" will be a lot more useful than simply "www.prettybridals.co.uk".
Of course it's only polite to link back to some one if they've linked to you, and to make it easy for you, all of our websites come with a FREE reciprocal linking form which you can find by adding "rf" to the end of your website address like so:
You can then include the link to the form in any emails you send requesting reciprocal links.
